Tradition & Milestones

Decades of experiences and still continuously upgrading technologies and knowledge for today and tomorrow

Turning technology implemented

The foundation of Iskra ISD dates to 1941, when the premises of a textile factory Jugočeška was re-organized into production of metal components for aircrafts.

A few years later, in 1946, a former subsidiary of Luftfahrtgerätewerk, Berlin was renamed Iskra ("Spark"), a factory for electrical and precision mechanics.

Technologies of casting, electroplating and thermoset moulding are well introduced into component production.

First manual thermoplast machine built with Iskra's internal knowledge to process polystyrol material.

Iskra developed into the largest Yugoslavian company for electromechanics, telecommunications, electronics and automation; the peak of Iskra was 35,000 employees.

Beginning in 1990, as Yugoslavia fell apart, Iskra lost lots of its internal market, and state-owned companies were privatized, resulting in Iskra Cybernetics Kranj being separated into 9 companies, among which one was Iskra ISD, whose main expertise was manufacturing components built into final products.

Iskra ISD is an independent company, and its main task is to find new customers and a market abroad.

ISO 16949 standard successfully introduced, certification for quality management system in the automotive industry.

KJK, independent partner owned asset manager, closed the acquisition of 51% of Iskra ISD.

Acquisition of company Hrovli gredi, specialized in the of production of shafts, axles and gears.

KJK, independent partner owned asset manager, acquires the remaining 49% of Iskra ISD and became 100% owner.

Iskra ISD invests each year on average more as 10% of yearly revenue into new state-of-art machinery, processes automation, measuring equipment and additional production areas.

Acquisition of Iskra Pro Kranj, company specialized in process automation.

Establishing our own tooling shop.

60 mio EUR sales and 60% export, mainly to DACH and Scandinavian regions.
